A few quick pics taken the night before a Saturday morning breakfast. I was not cooking this Friday night so I used my time to set the dishes up on the breakfast bar. (It is very rare that I cook breakfast).
All the dishes used were Pfaltzgraff Heritage. The placemats and napkins were purchased months ago at Old Time Pottery.

Pink Christmas In July
I know most of the Country has been suffering from a heat wave with temperatures well into the nineties. Here in Florida it has been at least 95 degrees with 90% humdidity most every day and will remain like that probably until September.
I have tons of yard work to do, but it is just way too hot! It is a good time to at least start thinking about Christmas. It is only 5 months away and the decorating starts just 4 months from now. I have so many ideas and things to plan for. What better time than now to stay in the air conditioning, enjoy a cool drink, watch great movies, and sew!!
Back in the eighties, I made about 12 Christmas elves to gather around my tree and pose them on a ladder and my mantel as if they were decorating my house. They are made from red and green velveteen and country homespun plaid. To this day I still pose them around the tree at Christmas time. They are stored away and unfortunately I can not find a picture to show you.
I have a friend, Denise, who just loves my elves and wanted to know if I could sew them in shabby chic colors, particularly blue and pink! Well this past hot weekend, I thought it would be a good time to create her request. I have to say I love them. They will be adorable around her white and pink Christmas tree.
Here is what I started with:
Here is the finished product. Aren't they cute?

I only had enough blue fabric to make one elf for now.
I missed the PInk Saturday cut off. I will try and hook up next weekend.
